TRAVO encapsulate heavy psych, progressive rock, and an unfiltered garage rock in new single “Turn To The Sun”

1 min read

It’s a thrilling juncture in the alternative music world, particularly when a band like Travo meanders onto the scene, bold yet tempered, familiar yet intriguingly alien. “Turn To The Sun”, the first single of their upcoming new album ‘Astromorph God’, just landed online and you can check it out right here.

This Portuguese ensemble is neither a novice nor a prodigy; they’re a vibrant blend of experienced musings and youthful exuberance.

Their new single, “Turn to the sun”, bringing in a melody that encapsulates heavy psych, progressive rock, and an unfiltered garage ethos. The auditory realm of Travo is a testament to the bustling undercurrents of the European rock scene, which boasts bands like Slift, Maragda, Gator The Alligator, and Kamggarn.

The tidal wave of their genre is evident, with echoes reminiscent of legends like King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard and Osees.

Their enigmatic charm, cloaked in a heavy mist of mystery, has beguiled many. With two albums and an EP under their belt, their discography paints a vivid landscape of intense rhythms, guttural vocals, and electric guitar riffs. Yet, it’s the raw, unfiltered energy of their live performances – marked by eruptions of mosh pits, head-banging, and crowd-surfing – that captures the essence of Travo.

The quartet, consisting of David Ferreira, Gonçalo Carneiro, Nuno Gonçalves, and Gonçalo Ferreira, are the craftsmen behind this upcoming opus. A culmination of their journey, ‘Astromorph God’, although it won’t grace our ears until the 17th of November, is already on the horizon for pre-order in various editions.
