Featured in an early 2016 interview for IDIOTEQ, Michigan groovy hardcore band TURNCOAT returns with a new music video for the track “The Friends You Need”! Shot by Nick Frollo, the video for the swingin’ new track can be watched below. This is the third released single following “Growing Up” and “Pushing Through,” off of their upcoming Self-Titled EP which is set to release on June 10th. Produced and engineered by Dirt Fest founder, Matt Dalton, this EP will be sure to turn heads.
“This is our very first music video for the third single from our upcoming EP. We had so much fun making this video with our friends. It’s fun, it’s energetic and it shows a lighter side of the Michigan music scene while all the while having a serious message behind it. Working with the mighty Nick Frollo was a blast and such an easy process. If your a fan of hardcore without all the bullshit jock mentality, “The Friends You Need” is right up your alley” – Guitarist Keith Keister
Since their debut in late 2014, Turncoat has worked hard to make a name all their own. Taking influence from 80’s hardcore punk with a mix of thrash, Turncoat has set a pace of searing guitar style, pounding drums and unforgettable vocals. All the while remaining true to the solid foundation that hardcore was built upon. Bringing to light personal, and everyday struggles in a way that is impossible to ignore.
Following the release of their debut single “Growing Up“, Turncoat has wasted no time hitting the road. Touring most of the United States in their first year. With no peak to their potential, Turncoat has been relentlessly pushing to reach every corner of the hardcore community. Telling it like it is to anyone who will listen. As the band prepares to release their Self-Titled EP, they continue to remain on the road hitting new grounds and tearing down barriers.
