TWITCHING TONGUES pay homage to their roots, release “Sleep Therapy Redux”

1 min read

“Sleep Therapy Redux” embodies a comprehensive representation of the entire “Sleep Therapy” epoch of Twitching Tongues, meticulously reimagined by the esteemed engineer and founding member Taylor Young of The Pit Recording Studio. This illustrious double LP gatefold compilation has been masterfully remastered by Brad Boatright of Audiosiege, ensuring an unparalleled auditory experience.

The compilation encompasses the complete “Sleep Therapy” recording session, incorporating previously unreleased material, the original 2010 demo, and riveting covers of both Pentagram and Type O Negative. The original artwork has been re-envisioned by the renowned artist Mark McCoy, celebrated for his work with Full of Hell, Charles Bronson, and Regional Justice Center.

This exquisite gatefold LP jacket boasts a refined matte finish, further enhanced by the subtle yet striking touch of UV spot varnish, creating a visually and aurally stunning package that befits the transcendent nature of the music contained within.

This album showcases the artistic prowess of Taylor and Colin Young, who have expertly crafted a collection of tracks that are both powerful and emotive, save for the two electrifying covers of “Forever My Queen” by Pentagram and “Gravitational Constant: G = 6.67 × 10^−8 cm^−3 gm^−1 sec^−2” by Type O Negative.

Colin Young’s unapologetically raw and honest lyrics inject the album with an irresistible authenticity that compels listeners to dive deep into the heart and soul of the music.

The songs are brought to life by the dynamic chemistry between band members Colin Young (vocals), Taylor Young (guitar/vocals), Mike Cesario (drums), and Keith Paull (bass).

Originally recorded in July 2010 at The Pit Recording Studio in Van Nuys, CA, the album has been meticulously remixed by Taylor Young in January 2022 in the very same location, lending it an enhanced depth and intensity.
