Sardinian emotional hardcore band RIFLESSO have shared their new single “Veleno“, their first new track featuring new singer Daniele, who performed with the band for the first time live this past Saturday. We took this chance to give you some more details about their new track, share the band’s live pics from weekend gig and uncover some details about Deniele and his background.
Speaking about the new single, the band commented: “The song’s about waking up every day knowing that you are a cog. The little that life holds for you seems to be gold and you’re afraid it might be taken away. Other people’s pain and suffering slip by and hold the little you have seems to be the only thing that matters.”
“But you can wake up, realizing that the little you have doesn’t matter at all. You can realize that even a little jammed gear can stop the assembly line. Maybe you won’t make a difference right away, maybe no one will know your name, but your “sacrifice” will put those behind you one step ahead.”
Daniele, the new singer for Riflesso, shared his musical journey, saying that he was first introduced to punk rock bands like Nofx, Millencolin, and Satanic Surfers when he was 10 or 12 years old. As he got older, he discovered heavier music and Italian hardcore bands like Sottopressione and Congegno. Although he still listens to a variety of genres, he began singing covers of Misfits and Ramones with some friends in his teenage years. However, his passion for drums led him to join a rock band called Venales and form a hardcore band called Keep Complaining, where he played fast-paced music.
In late 2022, Daniele unexpectedly took on the role of lead vocalist for Riflesso. This new opportunity has given him a new sense of purpose and strength, as he now has an outlet to scream with the guys and face life with newfound armor. The band is more than just friends; they have become a new family to him. Daniele hopes that this adventure will bring him and the band much excitement and satisfaction, and for now, that is all that matters.
