DOTZD is an exciting one-man project from Mexico City with a sound that can be mainly described as “post-rock” and “blackgaze”. Incorporating elements of ambient music mixed in harmony with extreme music to result in an ethereal and dreamlike sound, DOTZD has manged to craft an epic, transcendental record drenched in a sense of melancholy. “Tempo” is an affecting addition to his catalogue and a confident, full-grown production that carries the weight of experience and great taste and results in purifying and emotionally elevating listening.
Dotzd‘s music takes the listener to dreamy and fantasy places through guitars full of effects, distortion and a lot of sound layers, thus creating an immense soundscape.
Not focused on a single genre, drawns inspirations from Post-Rock, Shoegaze, Post-Metal, Blackgaze, Sludge, Slowcore, Ambient, Psychedelia and Noise to achieve different textures in its songs, thus showing an album full of changes between melancholy, tranquility, chaos and sadness.
“2020 has been a very difficult year for me, been away from my friends and my girlfriend has been tough so I’ve been focused on listening to new music and producing my new album.”- comments DOTZD.

“Tempo” is out today, December 4th, on all the streaming platforms. The recording, mixing and mastering on this production was all produced by Ashel on his Home Studio “Echo Bravo”.
Asked about his perspective on 2020 and the lack of live shows, DOTZD shares that “the landscape seems hard for live music, some bands here in México started to do some performances with limited forums”.
“But I think it is not the same experience.” – he adds. “I hope that next year live shows can happen like before so I can do a live show with help of some fellows to present the new album! I’m planning on doing more music for Dotzd and other projects to maintain my mind distracted.”

Viva Belgrado – “Bellavista”
I think that Viva Belgrado is the band that has achieved the best result on post-hardcore music with spanish language, this record gone to another level each song is memorable. If you have the opportunity to watch them live, don’t miss it.
Respire – “Black Line”
Respire is one of my favorites by implementing a perfect mix between screamo/post-black and symphonic elements. With this record they gave us all of the awesome elements that we expect from the but also new sounds from the emo scene. Great atmospheres and punchy hardcore also!
