The quartet, recently signed under the Fantasio Club banner based in Montreal, returns to their pop-punk roots on this new track and makes us want to play air guitar on the edge of our feet.
Produced by Marc-AndrΓ© Beaudet (The Sainte Catherines, Blurry Eyes), Hell will be released on Empathy, Lost Love’s fourth full-length record, coming this fall. With Hell, Guilhem Benard, the band’s frontman and songwriter, wanted to highlight his deep discomfort with his observations on today’s society:
“I feel like I never have the absolute solution. It’s becoming frustrating to see people arguing about the source of a problem instead of working together to find the solutions. HELL, it’s also an analogy; if hell exists, it’s probably what we’re living in right now. When we die, it won’t be any worse than it already is.”
To accompany the release of this first single, the members of Lost Love had fun recreating the existence of the phantom of rock, in addition to playing it cool and silly in a completely empty Turbo HaΓΌs.

Since first coming together 8 years ago, the band has earned themselves fans around the world with their work ethic and consistent touring schedule. To date, Lost Love has played over 350 shows in more than 15 countries across Europe and North America, making friends and leaving a lasting impression wherever they go.
Lost Love is the sort of band that blurs the lines between genres. Though their sound remains firmly entrenched in their punk roots, thereβs a radio-friendly pop quality to their music that gives the band an extremely broad appeal. Add the relatable lyrics of vocalist and guitarist Guilhem, and youβve got the sort of group that forces listeners to pay attention.
Over the course of their career, the band has put out three full-length albums, with LP4 scheduled for release in later 2021. On their fourth album, Empathy, Lost Love takes everything theyβve learned over the last 8 years and ups the ante by adding a sense of urgency to their sound. 2020 was a year of canceled tours, introspection, and big questions about the future of the band. Instead of calling it quits, Lost Love took those feelings of uncertainty and channeled them into arguably their most focused and personal album to date.

Comments LOST LOVE: “The last couple of years made me realize how bad we are, collectively, at communicating and how this impacts everyone’s mental health. It kind of feels weird now that everything is slowly (crossing my fingers here) getting better. Knowing that we will get back to socializing with friends and strangers at shows is thrilling. Hopefully, all this time off the grid will have given us the time to know ourselves better and thus, to be better with others.”
“The album is more raw. Like I mentioned earlier, it has a sense of urgency that every good punk record needs. The album is definitely more “punk” than the previous one. We recorded the album “live” in the studio. Everything except the lead guitar and the vocals were recorded at the same time, which gives a “live” feel to the album. The songs are very short. 2 minutes on average. So the album is 20 minute-long, but it has 12 songs on it. I’m really looking forward to sharing it to the rest of the world.”
TOP 10 of THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT LOST LOVE

1. The names “Lost Dogs” and “Rambling Dogs” were on the brainstorm table when we were looking for a band name. I’m glad we picked Lost Love.
2. The name “Lost Love” comes from a time where my life was in a weird spot (no lover, no school, no job, no band, no fun). So it was not only about romantic losing love, but about losing sight of what you loved in general. Dark times.
3. The band “The Sainte Catherines” mentions “Lost Love” twice in their songs (Confession of a Revolutionary Bourgeois Pt. 3 AND I’ll Miss The Boys). Some people say one of Lost Love’s members will create a time-travelling machine in the future and go back in time to help The Sainte Catherines write their lyrics.
4. Lost Love has had a total of 16 different members. The only remaining original members are Guilhem (vocals/guitar) and Vinny (drums)
5. Lost Love’s biggest tour was in 2016. The band went on a 4-month tour to promote their second LP (Comfortable Scars). It was all DIY booked and overall an exhausting and intense experience. 1 month through Canada, 1 month through Europe and 2 months across the USA.
6. The name “Good Luck Rassco” comes from a Boustan restaurant (Lebanese restaurant) in NDG (in Montreal). When the band was recording it, in that neighborhood, they went to Boustan and there was a 20-dollar bill that said “Good Luck Rassco” on it. When we asked them who Rassco was, they said he was the ex-owner of the place. He apparently sold the place to buy islands in the caribbeans! We thought it was a great fit with the style and theme of the album!
7. The first EP of Lost Love (Chasing Smiles, 2013) has Milan Mudie on the cover. Milan was 6 years old in that picture, he is now 14 and when the EP turns 10 years old, we want to release a new EP and put him on the cover again.
8. Most of the song titles come from an inside joke. For example, “Sexting Across America” basically talks about our 2-month times in the US, when we would text our lovers back home during the entire tour and we found the title very funny.
9. Lost Love has played in many different kinds of venues, including: bars, theaters, basements, poutine restaurant, house, DIY spaces, farmhouse, bowling alleys, squats, arcade bars, sushi restaurant, mexican restaurant, record stores, frat house, tattoo shop, book store, and much more!
10. Lost Love will turn ska for their LP5, so enjoy the punkiness of LP4 while it lasts.
11. Lost Love likes to joke and put another statement after the 10th one.
