DYS, the reformed “Kings of Boston Hardcore”, announce their latest digital single, a cover of the Motorhead classic “(We Are) The Road Crew”, today with an exclusive stream on MetalSucks.net. “(We Are) The Road Crew” – the band’s fourth Digital single in a series – will be released on February 28th, 2012, for 99 cents on iTunes, Amazon.com and the B9Store.com.
The song’s key art is an amazing mash-up of the DYS “Boston Terrier King” logo and the iconic Motorhead “War Pig” logo, as brought together by iconic punk rock artist, drummer and cartoonist Brian Walsby, who has drawn for Maximum Rock and Roll, Flipside, album covers for 7 Seconds, label-mates H20 and more.
DYS is vocalist Dave Smalley (ex- Dag Nasty, All, Down by Law), bass player Jonathan Anastas (ex-Slapshot), guitar player Franz Stahl (Scream, ex-Foo Fighters), drummer Al Pahanish Jr. (ex- Powerman 5000) and guitar player Adam Porris (ex-Far From Finished).
The track was produced by Andrew “Mudrock” Murdock (Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Riverboat Gamblers), recorded at his Hobby Shop Studio, West in Los Angeles, and mastered by Dave Shultz at D2.
DYS will be hitting the road in support of their new singles, starting with a triumphant return to their hometown of Boston on March 14th in support of the Dropkick Murphys, as part of the St. Patrick’s Day Shows. The band will then immediately fly to Texas and participate in the 10th Anniversary Shirts for a Cure SXSW Showcase at Red 7. DYS will also play several other shows in Texas as part of the same run. In April, DYS will tour Europe around their 4/29 Groezrock appearance.
