Dayton, Ohio’s ALL HALLOWED are a bass/vox/drums dance punk powerhouse comprised of Ricky and Lacey Terrell and Chris Cox that emerges from a Rust Belt backdrop of industrial decline and urban decay. “POET” is the lead single from our sophomore EP release, and today we’re pleased to give you the official video for the single above!
The track comes from their forthcoming EP for Friend Club Records. The new release follows their debut EP, which included contributions from members of Underoath, The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche, and hit the streets earlier this year, and garnered attention from Big Takeover, Brooklyn Vegan, Scene Point Blank, Culture Addicts, etc.
“”POET” is a decade old track.” – says the band. “It was originally used in our eerie-folk band Starving in the Belly of the Whale and originally titled “Speak Like a Poet”. This is also the first track to introduce Chris Cox on drums. He will be drumming on our second EP.”
“”POET” is about what happens when we think we know everything. It’s difficult for many people to ask for help. Humans are often proud, arrogant, and belittling. We like to think we know what is best for others. When in reality, a lot of times we don’t even know what’s best for ourselves.”
For their debut EP, released digitally and via cassette on Friend Club Records, All Hallowed recruited Aaron Gillespie (of Underoath, The Almost) who recorded the drums at his stand alone studio in Utah. Additionally, The Movielife’s Vinnie Caruana duets and harmonized with All Hallowed singer Lacey Terrell on single “Lust.” The EP was produced by Denny Cottle and engineered, mixed and mastered by Micah Carli (formerly of Hawthorne Heights) at his Popside studio in Troy, Ohio.
The dup is playing Sound Valley Music Fest (alongside Jetty Bones, The Raging Nathans and more) in Dayton, Ohio, in August (Sound Valley Summer Music Festival on August 28th and will be included on a Friend Club Records / Vagrant Records cover comp, visiting a Black Rebel Motorcycle Club song.
