1 min read

Fresh off their new EP “Demons”, Helsinki based metallic hardcore act DEFIANT are back with new single and music video called “Forever Gone”.

““An ode to my grandfather”, Forever Gone is a homage, a tribute song to late Mr. Bodh Raj Tamrakar who left this world in 2021 leaving behind a lot of inspiration and high spirit which we carry in Defiant in the form of music & mindset.”, comments the band.

Lyrics:

Shut!
I Shut it off
Shut the noises inside my head
But my fear of losing
Turned into reality

And upon loss
I suffered what it’s like
To never have you back

Forever gone
Forever gone

Gone
Gone
Gone

While I’m half awake
You pierce through my dreams
To assure me
I’ll be alright

Sacrifices
You understand my sacrifices
Cause I know
You were once just like me

The last days I didn’t get to spend with you
A final goodbye I couldn’t afford to give you
In the name of Sun, Moon and the stars
I’ll repay your debt

I will bring
Bring these mountains down
Melt the snow
Consume the heat
Build rivers from the rain

Turn all these forces
All these forces against me
Into the fuel
The fuel that’ll drive me through

A homage
A Promise
To
You
