STILL FALLING: reinvention through despair – new massive stingle from atmopsheric post metallers streaming

July 7, 2023
1 min read

The city of Athens, a cradle of Western civilization, has long echoed with the whispers of tales older than time itself. Today, it is about to resonate with the chilling sounds of metal that echo a different kind of history – one of angst, introspection, and a cathartic release that only music can provide.

An atmopsheric metal, chaotic hardcore and post metal blender known as Still Falling is stepping back into the spotlight after a five-year silence, prepared to thunder through your speakers today.

‘Release The Two Ends’ is a gruesome, soul-torturing piece of music that transcends into an experience.

Emerging from their hiatus, Still Falling has fine-tuned their ensemble, infusing new blood into their ranks and thereby instigating a fresh dynamism to their sound. They have honed their musical expertise into a single track and accompanying music video that is set to redefine their identity in the realm of Metal.

‘Release The Two Ends’ – a cathartic descent into despair

A potent exploration of dread and despair, ‘Release The Two Ends‘ serves as the band’s swan song to an era now past. The track dares to delve deep into the abyss, where light rarely reaches and where pain morphs into poignant beauty. It is here, in the marrow of human suffering, that Still Falling finds its muse.

Still Falling

Their approach to creation was an experiment in itself – a heady cocktail of improvisation, field recordings, ambisonics and more. This unique methodology gave birth to a discordant symphony of glass-breaking guitars, rhythmically complex undertones, and chilling vocals that seem to emanate from a spectral plane. It’s a piece of music so uncategorizable, it slips from the grasp of any established metal subgenre.

The chaos is visualized through the accompanying music video, brought to life by experimental visual artist Elide Blind, with editing handled masterfully by Sam Beck (Emmure, Reflections). Together, they weave a hectic tapestry of imagery that grips the viewer as tightly as the music itself.

The release of ‘Release The Two Ends’ marks an important milestone for Still Falling. It is the final opus featuring Marios Mizo’s scathing vocals, offering what may arguably be his finest work with the band. But as one chapter closes, another opens. A new concept EP, due for release later this year, will introduce the band’s new vocalist, Michael Mikes.

Still Falling

It is a transition marked with anticipation. Still Falling’s return to the stage will be closely watched, as they emerge from the ashes of their former selves to be reborn in a new guise, guided by Mikes’ vocal prowess.

An intimate mini documentary chronicling the creative process behind ‘Release The Two Ends‘ is also in the works, promising fans a rare glimpse into the band’s journey of reinvention.
