SVALBARD share new epic single “Faking It”, new album “The Weight Of The Mask” coming up

July 12, 2023
1 min read

Distinguished by their dynamic range and eclectic style, Svalbard, a band hailing from the UK, has once again reaffirmed their standing in the metalcore and heavy progressive metal scene with their latest offering, “Faking It.” This piece is nothing short of an anthem, encapsulating a myriad of musical influences, from post-metal to extreme metal, all delicately woven into their own inventive narrative. The new track comes from the band’s new album “The Weight Of The Mask”, scheduled for October 6, 2023 release.

Svalbard’s innovative fusion of genres has always marked them as a unique force within the music scene. With “Faking It“, they have deftly taken this fusion a step further, exploring the interplay between post-metal and extreme metal. The band’s characteristic post-rock backgrounds and soundscapes remain a powerful presence, adding layers of depth to the new anthem.

The dynamic changes throughout the track reflect Svalbard’s ability to combine these diverse elements into a seamless and, as always, captivating whole.

The new song is not just an exercise in genre-blending, but also a testament to the band’s innovative spirit and relentless pursuit of growth. By pushing boundaries and breaking the genre mold, Svalbard continues to evolve, creating music that is truly their own.

Svalbard‘s reverence for the greats of the music world is no secret. This was highlighted when they recently released the single “Eternal Spirits,” a poignant tribute to the late Slipknot drummer, Joey Jordison. This homage to the fallen star underlines the band’s respect for their predecessors and their commitment to keeping their legacies alive.

Svalbard cover

Fans across Europe are set for an exhilarating experience as Svalbard has announced headlining shows across Europe and the UK in October. The performance at Backstage By The Mill in Paris on October 19th promises to be a highlight of the tour.

Svalbard dates

The band’s most recent full-length album, “When I Die, Will I Get Better?” released in 2020, remains a significant milestone in their musical journey. With “Faking It” and their upcoming tours, Svalbard demonstrates that their trajectory is still very much upward.
