HOT MULLIGAN returns with their latest offering, Warmer Weather, a fresh 3-track EP that sees the post-emo pop punk crew venturing into both familiar and experimental territory. Released under Wax Bodega on September 19, 2024, the EP features the new single Fly Move (The Whole Time). The music video for the new track can be seen below.
Fly Move sets the tone with its delicate instrumentation and introspective lyrics, showcasing a more refined side of HOT MULLIGAN while staying true to their signature energy.
End Eric Sparrow and the Life of Him follows, with Tades’ explosive vocal delivery in full force, adding a chaotic flair that contrasts sharply with the opener. Wrapping up the EP is Stickers of Brian, another classic from the band that feels like a nod to longtime fans, blending the nostalgic with the new.
For vinyl collectors, the limited-edition bubblegum vinyl, with a screen-printed B-side, is available for pre-order, shipping around November 5, 2024. *Warmer Weather* may be a brief release, but it packs in all the heart and grit fans have come to love, leaving us eager for whatever HOT MULLIGAN has in store next.
“Fly Move (The Whole Time)” Lyrics:
Sit on the floor
Set the trash by the door
Pile the dishes
A month in a room
Watching cars pass outside
From the couch every night
Where I’ve been sleeping
Way into the afternoon
The apartment stays clean I don’t touch anything unless I need it
I don’t want to move
Every day is the same
I prefer it that way
At least I’m used to it
Why go outside again
Unlock the door and stand in the hallway
Errands to run and calls that I should make
All I’ve got is busy work
Liquor stores and comic books
Can’t help but feel there’s something wrong with me
Hide in the house from friends that I should see
All I want is not to hurt
Cigarettes that always burn
I said I’d go for a walk
But had a beer in the shower
I lied about things I saw
I guess you should know
That I’m not feeling too good
Just be a person
And I’m afraid to go out now
What’s wrong with you
Don’t want to see anyone
Don’t be dramatic
I can see the street lights turning on
I stay up all night worrying
The windows never open
I can see the street lights turning on
I feel my arms get weaker
I’ll wait for warmer weather
I can see the street lights turning on
Unlock the door and stand in the hallway
Errands to run and calls that I should make
Can’t help but feel that there’s something wrong with me
Hide in the house from friends that I should see
