Collapse: GRIEF RITUAL’s anthem of destruction and defiance

1 min read

Prepare to be dismantled. On January 31st, 2025, GRIEF RITUAL will unleash their debut album, Collapse, via Church Road Records. Following the ferocious energy of their EP Spiritual Disease, Collapse doesn’t just pick up where they left off – it turns the volume all the way up on the anguish and rage that defines their sound. With Collapse, GRIEF RITUAL is ripping apart everything wrong with the world today, brick by brick, riff by riff.

From the very first note, it’s a sonic assault—an eleven-track tirade against capitalism, populist authoritarianism, and the endless cycles of human greed and violence. The bass tone feels like it’s physically pulling you apart, while dueling vocals blend a mix of extreme metal influences that put every ounce of the band’s frustration on full display.

It’s a calculated destruction of everything we know. The band tackles humanity’s most destructive impulses head-on: genocide, ecocide, and the inevitable decline we all feel creeping up as the world falls apart around us. GRIEF RITUAL are taking aim at the systems that continue to fail us, with every note packed full of terror, despair, and bitterness.

This record isn’t just about fury. It’s also about clarity. The terror isn’t abstract—it’s very real, as Collapse taps into the helplessness many feel about the state of the world today. From the relentless energy of “Bile”—the album’s first single —to the devastating breakdowns and earth-shattering bass tones that flow through tracks like “Artifice” and “Putrefy,” this album embodies destruction.
