Florida’s DAY BY DAY are back with their new single “Until Then… It’s War” as they gear up for the release of their EP Dust and Ashes, coming January 17th via Flatspot Records.
Formed in 2014, the band built their name through DIY releases, including Never Ending Lies (2015), From Now On (2017), and Nowhere To Run (2018). This foundation led to international tours across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia, and now they’re partnering with an independent hardcore label for their latest effort.
The six-song EP was recorded with Andy Nelson at Bricktop Studios in Chicago and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. To preserve a raw, authentic feel, the band chose to record live in the studio, steering clear of the polished modern sound. The result is a record packed with powerful, hard-hitting tracks that tackle life’s uncertainties and complicated friendships.
“Until Then… It’s War,” the lead single, dropped today and hits with a dark, brutal intensity. Known for their triple vocal delivery, DAY BY DAY showcases an aggressive, unrelenting hardcore style on this track. Dalton Rivas from THREE KNEE DEEP adds extra depth to the song with his vocal contribution. The track’s video, equally as crushing, is available for viewing now.
DAY BY DAY will be hitting the road later this month for a few Northeast shows with REGULATE, AWOL, and THE OX, followed by a UK tour alongside SPEED, END IT, DEMONSTRATION OF POWER, and LIFE’S QUESTION as part of the Flatspot World Tour.
The EP is available for preorder through Flatspot Records, and the band lineup is as follows: Ian Dolan (vocals), Jared Hutcherson (guitar/vocals), Joey Collery (bass/vocals), Augie Ruiz (guitar), and Blake Kerr (drums).
