Sad emo collides with grungy fuzzy vibes on the new split from SINKING SEASON and MILK ST.

Today sees the release of “Floral/Slide Off”; a split single forged over the 2500 miles between Seattle, Washington’s, Sinking Season and Bangor, Maine’s, Milk St.

Post-emo trio Sinking Season’s “Floral” delivers raw walls of guitars and drums simmering under wracked vocals reflecting on flowers left by an ex.

With the track’s towering spacious production, listeners could be forgiven for thinking they’re hearing an unearthed cut from the early 90s heyday of the band’s hometown scene.

That Seattle sound also lurks in the shadows on Milk St’s cut, “Slide Off”. This exploration of moments when trauma overwhelms finds the band dusting off their fuzz boxes for the group’s angriest outing in years (and maybe ever). Bruising shoegaze takes center stage, but the angular unbridled sounds of early Sub Pop outings weave amongst the heaving soundscape.

Floral” / “Slide Off” follows Milk St’s 2024 split with NYC antifolk mainstay Brook Pridemore, Oscar Mayer Winners, and Sinking Season’s 2023 LP The Wolves.

Sinking Season and Milk St. hit the road together on a thirteen-date co-headliner that begins on Tuesday, November 12th, in Boston, Massachusetts. The two groups will then blaze a trail around lakes Ontario and Erie, making stops in Maine, Vermont, Ontario, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, before rounding out the run in New York City.
