Brooklyn’s CHUMPED are streaming their much anticipated debut LP Teenage Retirement today via Wondering Sound alongside an interview with the full band. While the album will not be officially released until November 18th via Anchorless Records, the band has already won accolades from NPR, Stereogum, Vice, Wondering Sound, BrooklynVegan, The AV Club, Flavorwire, New York Magazine and a whole host of other places.
Chumped are fun, in an undeniably brash, easy way. The pop-punk quartet transcends their genre, creating party-ready, razor-sharp jams helmed by the distinctively strong vocals of guitarist Anika Pyle. Formed in Brooklyn in 2012, the band quickly began making a name for themselves in the Brooklyn DIY scene, combining 90s indie with pop punk to create music that is energetic, reflective and just a bit gritty in all the most endearing ways. Their self-titled 2013 debut EP caught the attention of critics and fans alike who were early to champion the young band and helped contribute to an ever-growing momentum and a busy 2014. Chumped has announced a weekend of album release shows and are currently on a US tour (all tour dates below).
Pre-order for Teenage Retirement is now available online via Anchorless Records.
