With an average age of 19, they devastate each stage they play on with their fast and melodic guitar riffs, ferocious screams and brutal breakdowns.
“Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Do not bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.”
― William Faulkner
Under this motto, An Ocean Tide steps it up and raises the bar every single time they are on stage.
Uniqueness is what they strive for, music is what they live for. Passion is their drive and dedication is their pride.
Formed in late 2010, An Ocean Tide is a band on a journey.
Having quickly earned a reputation for heavy and brutal live shows and a fierce and rather unique sound, people have started to take notice.
After a year of playing shows, they released their first 7 track EP ‘Anchors’ which was well received by the audience. ‘Anchors’ gave the band the chance to share the stage with bands as Ready, Set, Fall! (ITA), Tides of Virtue (UK), Breakdown Of Sanity (CH) and Grave Digger (GER). A year after the release of ‘Anchors’, An Ocean Tide went into the studio (The Penthouse Studio) and teamed up with Pavel Trebuhkin at TRE PRODUCTIONS to record and produce a videoclip for their single ‘Sideways’, which brought the band to a whole new level; press attention (MAKS & UP MAGAZINE), tons of interviews and playing bigger stages. The band got selected to participate in contests such as Rock Herk, Limbomania and the overwhelming Imagine Festival Contest in which they reached the Flemish Finals.
Mid 2013 An Ocean Tide went into the studio (Ignition Studio) to record their 5 tracked EP ‘The Brightening’, which was released October 2013. ‘The Brightening’ was a change for the band as it was more technical and melodical than their previous EP. The band decided to change course in their sound.
Right now they are working
on their debut album which will be different than anything they have released before. With their upcoming single and videoclip ‘Vacant Stare’, that will be released by the end of 2014, they will give a small preview of what you can expect. Be prepared!
About The Video: The story means a lot to us as a band. Why? Our vocalist based the lyrics on his grandmother who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease. It is a dreadful disease to witness. People they once knew and cared about, closed ones, relatives, become strangers. It starts with simple headaches, but then they start forgetting everything. Stuff they used to do can’t be done anymore because they just don’t know how to do it anymore. All the simple things they one knew and could do can’t be done anymore. They’re changing, right in front of your eyes and you can’t help our do anything about it because little is known about it. So we want to raise awareness and show families that have somebody that suffers from Alzheimer’s the support they need and let them know that they are not alone.
