Alt rock act RICK RUDE streaming new record!

RICK RUDE are heading out on the road this week in support of their new album Make Mine Tuesday, and they’re sharing an advance stream of the record! Set for release on January 20th via Sophomore Lounge and Tiny Radars Records, the Dover, NH based quartet’s latest is what GoldFlakePaint called “one of the first great long-players of 2017”. An incredible mix of indie rock, dark folk, post-punk, and tangled pop influences, Rick Rude’s chemistry works in a magical way, combining the band’s dynamic songs together seamlessly while shifting mood and sentiment without warning.

Make Mine Tuesday is out January 20th on Sophomore Lounge and Tiny Radars Records.

CLRVYNT magazine, who premiered the record, shared the following:

“the core of this young rock ensemble is a simple musical bond shared between two longtime friends, guitarist Ben Troy and bassist Jordan Holtz (and, of course, their deep admiration for the WWE icon after whom their band is named). The former songwriter has a penchant for emo-tinged tales of ghosts and demons; the latter opts for a more sentimental approach, staging folksy inquiries into issues of corporeal autonomy and existential despair. Lest these lyrical attitudes drag Rick Rude into the doldrums (not that they’d mind), the band (which also includes guitarist Noah Lefebvre and drummer Ryan Harrison) keeps a turbo-charged, grungy back-end, ultimately arriving at a gnarled, hand-hewn sound reminiscent of gruff-hearted bands like the Wrens — or perhaps Cheap Trick’s rural cousin.”

“It’s the perfect introduction to the rising New Englanders, not to mention a great soundtrack for whiling away a lazy winter day in front of the radiator, beer in hand.”

Following much acclaim from The AV Club, Consequence of Sound, Impose Magazine, GoldFlakePaint, and more, RICK RUDE are excited to head out on tour this week together with MA’s Kiss Concert. Complete dates can be found below.

About the band:

Out of speakers came noise and out of noise came Rick Rude. A four-membered creature whose tattered robe, four-string guitar, and sand-filled shoes are surrounded by a haze of sweet smoke and empty beer cans, thrashes about with a charismatic enthusiasm matched only by its lethargic demeanor, speaking fluently in the cryptic languages of dreams, love, and ennui. It inhabits a dark cave on the mountainside of truth, carefully furnished with dismantled electronics, books on meditation, and warped records of Guided By Voices, Built to Spill, and Cheap Trick. A nocturnal creature, Rick Rude feasts on mystical fungi, boredom, mushy guitar riffs, and the delicacy of the human soul.
