L A S T E L L E is an Atmospheric Post-Hardcore band hailing from Oxfordshire UK. With comparisons being drawn to the likes of Devil Sold His Soul, Casey, Underoath, Being As An Ocean, and The Elijah; LASTELLE are writing music that blends the power and hooks of Post-Hardcore with the dense soundscapes and textures of Post-Rock. Focusing on dynamic song writing, cascading vocal hooks, and emotional lyrics. Making some bold first steps since forming in September 2018, with streaming plays totalling over 350,000 on Spotify alone, official music video views totalling over 350,000, and multiple tours and shows under their belts already. Theyβve shared the stage with the likes of DREAM STATE, THECITYISOURS, POLAR, PRESS TO MECO, AS EVERYTHING UNFOLDS, and more.
The band recently joined forces with new UK label Year Of The Rat Records in August 2020. Speaking about βDepartureβ Freddie Whatmore says βAnother personal song, this song deals with the mental process of losing a loved one. The chorus line βIn the end, arenβt we just chasing the time that weβve spent our life wasting? All I hope is that youβre happy now.β is about how the death of someone else can bring an overwhelming sense of your own mortality, and questions whether youβll feel fulfilled when your life comes to end. There were a few different versions of the end of this song, but what we settled on probably ended up as the heaviest part in any of our songs!β
