Hailing from the suburbs of Sydney comes FATHER DEER HANDS – a quintessentially Australian melodic hardcore punk outfit of loud technical guitars, huge drums, percussive and sludgy bass lines and dynamic vocals. A band of friends that want to go against the grain of standard heavier roots in music with a love of all styles of music and a desire to express that in their own way. Any way you look at Father Deer Hands, they are a breath of fresh air in the Australian Music Industry.
Today, they are announcing the imminent release of their brand new single “Make Me Feel” – a rowdy yet focused hard-out punk/hardcore track. The single will be released into the world this Friday, May 15th on all digital stores and streaming platforms – available at this location.
“Make Me Feel” was Mixed/Mastered by Clayton Segelov at The Brain Studios, Sydney and the video was shot/edited by Amy Mclntosh (The Beautiful Monument).

Vocalist Matthew Betmalik says that the song is
“…something about self-worth, learning to love yourself. There is so much more to life than that job you weren’t good enough for, those fair weather friends, and the love you lost. There IS something more than this! It’s within all of us. Time alone doesn’t heal, the power to wake up and restart is within YOU.”
The video follows vocalist Matthew walking through his suburb in Sydney and picking up followers, pied-piper style, before taking them to a school gym, where the band belt out the song while the followers pelt them with balls, Dodgeball style!
The past two years have taken Father Deer Hands across their home state of New South Wales, from their home town of Sydney to Armidale. FDH headlined a show at Factory Floor in Marrickville, playing alongside bands such as Ambleside and Diamond Construct.
Father Deer Hands are: Wade Garnett – Guitar, James Garnett – Drums, Matt Betmalik – Vocals & Tyson Ryan – Bass.
