Baltimore-based hardcore band, Tripper, has dropped their latest single, “Salt“, setting the stage for their upcoming debut EP, People Die Every Day, scheduled for a November 3rd release.
Blending hardcore with the raw energy of powerviolence and experimenting with unique elements, Tripper seeks inspiration from iconic bands such as Converge and Punch.
They comfortably align with contemporary acts like Jivebomb and Gouge Away.
Their new single, “Salt“, resonates with powerful rhythms, where the groove-heavy bass perfectly complements the fierce vocals. Delving into the theme of detachment and acceptance of unresolved situations, the song promises a deep, immersive experience for listeners.
The recording process for the EP saw the collaboration of Kevin Bernsten of Developing Nations, known for his work with End It and Full of Hell. The mixing was handled by Matt Redenbo, associated with Jivebomb and Praise, while mastering was executed by James Plotkin.
Though Tripper was formed only in 2022, their journey has been marked by significant milestones.
They debuted with their first live performance in May 2023 and have since shared the stage with renowned bands like Loma Prieta, MSPAINT, and Alienator. Fans in Baltimore can look forward to an EP release show on November 4th at Holy Frijoles, featuring supporting acts Ripley Void and Muscle.
Tripper’s lineup boasts of Alex Szydelska on vocals, Bryan Moon wielding the guitar, Austin Reed on bass, and Michael Habif setting the rhythm on drums.
