Vital Michigan punk rockers BIKE TUFF premiere new song!

1 min read

2 weeks before the official premiere of their new record ‘Kamea’, we have teamed up with Michigan melodic punk rock act BIKE TUFF and their label Between the Days Records to give you a foretaste of the album and share their new track called “Does Whiskey Count As Beer?”! We’ve already heard the full record and I’m gona tell you that it’s the definition of a natural, emotive punk rock that we all love here on IDIOTEQ. The full length is a eleven-track album that – if the new track below is any indication – recalls both vintage punk soul, 90s pop punk catchiness and natural emotive sensibilities of your favorite anthemic records of the 90s and 00s. Fans of these moods will certainly dig it and it would fit nicely between SHOOK ONES’ “Facetious Folly Feat” and SMALL BROWN BIKE’s “Our Own Wars.”

Recorded by Rick Johnson (MUSTARD PLUG, BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY), ‘Kamea’ is available for pre-order the record at this location.

The band commented on the song:

“Does Whiskey Count as Beer?” is a song about the search for a sense of purpose in life and how we sometimes get stuck in a rut and lose sight of what’s meaningful. There’s a certain feeling that comes with visiting places from you childhood, either physically or mentally, that can really help to bring that sense of purpose back into focus. This is one of the slower, moodier tracks on the new album and it’s one that we’ve loved playing live so far.

Bike Tuff hail from Kalamazoo, Michigan and have been together since 2009. During that time, the band as built up their own scene by booking shows, housing touring bands, and even starting the annual Fat Guy Fest which is now on its third year. Bike Tuff has spent time on the road throughout the Midwest and East Coast over the last several years. This year also landed them spots on Pouzza Fest (Montreal) and The Fest 15 (Gainesville, FL).
