Brooklyn melodic punk rockers PASS AWAY have premiered a new track called “Blue Drinks”, a quality follow-up to their 2018 record “The Hell I’ve Always Seen”.
“Blue Drinks is about letting go of past bullshit and embracing the good times to come. The best revenge in life is to raise a drink with your best friends and laugh at the world.”
Truly amazing record. Whiskey-soaked vocals, tight melodies and fantastic lyrics roll together in a wash of punk energy. More akin to an amped up JAWBREAKER or a revved up BEACH SLANG than pop-punk, there isn’t a weak track on it. Excellent. Pick of the week for sure. / Michael F / Bandcamp
Lyrics:
I’m wide awake, I swear to God I’m always wide awake. Constant shakes, every bone in my body aches. I was perfectly alone. You crashed thru my comfort zone. Now you’re never near your phone when it feels like I’m dying. Suicide of a feeling. A funeral where no one shows. I want to drink blue drinks and drown with all my pals around. Throw this thing in the ground and raise a fucking glass. I’m wide awake, I swear to God I’m always wide awake. Is it the drugs I take, or are you making me feel this way? I was perfect alone. You crashed thru my comfort zone. Now you’re never near your phone when it feels like I’m dying. Suicide of a feeling. A funeral where no one shows. I want to drink blue drinks and drown with all my pals around. Throw this thing in the ground and raise a fucking glass. We’ll all just float away and watch all our beards turn grey. Throw this shit overboard and raise a fucking glass.
