Hailing from the south side of Chicago, SI DIOS QUIERE are making hardcore that reps their city and draws inspiration from the member’s shared Mexican background. Today the band shares new single “Fool’s Gold” out through New Morality Zine.

Taking influence from bands like Madball and Rotting Out, the track focuses on mosh heavy rhythms and and a tough delivery. With lyrics stemming from a broken heart, the song climaxes with the callback worthy chorus – “I see your lies don’t play me like a fool / My heart is gold / I’ve got nothing left to lose.”

On “Fool’s Gold” vocalist Ozzy Jimenez expands: “Fool’s Gold is a song about heartbreak and grievance from a partner. The pain and hell one has to go through before realizing you’re going to be okay. It’s a song written like a love letter. A final letter of thank you and goodbye.”

Originally formed in 2020 by guitarist Christian Guajardo and drummer Ricardo Velazquez, SI DIOS QUIERE came into its own in late 2022 when Jimenez took over vocal duties. Rounded out by guitarist Roberto Velazquez and bassist Louie Flores, the band dropped a two-song promo in summer 2023 that highlighted a definitive sound from prior releases. Since then, the band has been working on new material and sharing stages with artists like Bulldoze, All Out War, Kharma, and Inclination.
