The latest release from CHIVÀLA, titled “Oggetto di scena“, serves as a perfect intersection of emotional post-hardcore and screamo, balanced by the soulfulness of post-rock. But what makes this band truly stand out is how they encapsulate that unique European touch, incorporating Italian as if its distinct cadences and rhythms, were made to communicate the raw emotions and depth inherent in this unique style of post hardcore.
CHIVÀLA has graced our pages before (also with this sick collabrative project of Ephemera), and it’s with great pleasure that we now present their latest work. Though Oggetto di scena is just a single, it’s a strong reminder of why their music resonates so deeply. Their sound hasn’t been heard since July 2021, and after this extended silence, the track marks a strong return, bringing their signature intensity back into focus.
The blend of sharp screamo with atmospheric post-rock instrumentation creates a soundscape that feels both familiar and hauntingly fresh. There’s a heaviness here that transcends mere genre tags, as though every note is tied to a larger narrative that words alone couldn’t quite express.
On top of this, CHIVÀLA will be performing a special live set tomorrow, coinciding with the release of the single. The event, described in the flyer below, will take place at the Festival Internazionalista della Poesia Rivoluzionaria at Le Macerie, an evening filled with book presentations, performances, and live music.
