CITIZEN premiere new video for “Black and Red”; tour dates available

Toledo-based rock powerhouse CITIZEN recently released their fourth full-length Life In Your Glass World via Run For Cover Records, and today tickets go on sale for their North American tour in support of the record. To mark the occasion Citizen have also shared their brand new music video for album stand out, “Black and Red.”

Earning praise from fans and critics alike, Life In Your Glass World is another giant step forward for a band that have spent over a decade challenging expectations and refusing to be easily defined. Since the album’s release Citizen have continued to push themselves, releasing their series of Glass Mix EPs that feature drastically reimagined versions of songs from Life In Your Glass World. The most recent entry, Glass Mix 2 is streaming now and includes astonishing new versions of “Blue Sunday” and “Thin Air.”

Citizen take risks with their sound on each new album, exploring impassioned post-hardcore, raw noise rock, shimmering indie pop, anthemic alternative, and more—sometimes even within the same track. With Life In Your Glass World, the band’s need to continue evolving went hand in hand with their desire to be fully in control of their creative destiny. Citizen recorded the album completely on their own terms in the home studio that vocalist Mat Kerekes built in his garage, with the autonomy allowing for a fresh approach to their writing process. The urgency and creative freedom is palpable throughout Life In Your Glass World, with every sonic twist and turn proving exactly why Citizen have made a name for themselves as one of the most dynamic bands in modern guitar music.

Citizen will be performing at Riot Fest in September before kicking off their North American tour dates, which will feature support from Drug Church, Glitterer, and Floating Room. Tickets are available now, see full itinerary HERE.
