CLOAKROOM share new single “Asymmetrical”

CLOAKROOM are sharing “Asymmetrical,” their latest genre defying single from the band’s sophomore LP, Further Out. Set for release January 20th on Run For Cover Records, the Northwestern Indiana based trio are blurring the lines between brawny shoegaze, soaring space rock, introspective slowcore, and midwestern post-hardcore.

Dreary vocals and slow building riffs collide with dense rhythms and eventual waves of distortion, offering a stellar release to “Asymmetrical’s” growing tension. AV Club noted the “all-analog approach reflects both Cloakroom’s influences and the band’s otherworldly ambitions” while adding “the song proves that Cloakroom can take all these disparate influences and turn them into a sound wholly its own”.

Cloakroom had a busy year in 2014 touring with Whirr, Nothing, and Basement, as well as recording Further Out, the band’s upcoming full length record at Earth Analog Studios with Matt Talbott (Hum/Centaur) set for release on January 20, 2015. Cloakroom and Talbott recorded the album 100% analog, from recording to mixing to mastering to creating the vinyl parts.
