CLOAKROOM stream new album “Further Out”!

1 min read

CLOAKROOM are streaming Further Out, their highly anticipated sophomore album this week via Pitchfork Advance, a week ahead of its January 20th release on Run For Cover Records. The Northwestern Indiana based trio are blurring the lines between brawny shoegaze, soaring space rock, introspective slowcore, and midwestern post-hardcore. Listen to “Further Out” on Pitchfork.

Stereogum recently offered, “Cloakroom have had an impressive run of singles leading up to the release of their [sophomore] full-length, Further Out — “Starchild Skull” and “Asymmetrical” are the kind of heavy, charismatic songs that attract some serious attention…” before adding “their new full-length is a dour and cathartic listen, and another in a long line of strong releases for Run For Cover”.
Cloakroom had a busy year in 2014 touring with Whirr, Nothing, and Basement, as well as recording Further Out, the band’s upcoming full length record at Earth Analog Studios with Matt Talbott (Hum/Centaur) set for release on January 20, 2015.  Cloakroom and Talbott recorded the album 100% analog, from recording to mixing to mastering to creating the vinyl parts.
