GRAMMY nominated band CODE ORANGE have announced that they will release UNDER THE SKIN, a new digital album this Friday, September 4th. The album officially captures and chronicles Code Orangeโ€™s full band stripped-down โ€œUNDER THE SKINโ€ livestream with enhanced audio.

Conceptually akin to classic MTV Unplugged performances, but with digital twists and turns, Code Orange originally transmitted โ€œUNDER THE SKINโ€ around the world live via Twitch from Pittsburgh, PA earlier this summer. UNDER THE SKIN also includes a striking rendition of the Alice In Chains classic โ€œDown In A Hole,โ€ which is now available on the bandโ€™s YouTube channel with performance footage shot and edited by Sunny Singh of hate5six. Furthermore, the band has launched limited edition UNDER THE SKIN merch including a DVD of the performance available for pre-order today at store.codeorangetoth.com.

Earlier this year, Code Orangeโ€™s revolutionary hour-long livestream, โ€œLAST ONES LEFT: IN FEAR OF THE END,โ€ saw the band delivering a powerful performance interspersed with cinematic imagery to nearly 13,000 concurrent viewers, with it quickly trending Top 15 on Twitter in the United States.

The bandโ€™s new album UNDERNEATH is available now on all streaming platforms, and features the singles – โ€œSwallowing The Rabbit Whole,โ€ โ€œUnderneath,โ€ and โ€œSulfur Surrounding.โ€ Produced by Code Orangeโ€™s Jami Morgan and Nick Raskulinecz with co-producer Will Yip, UNDERNEATH features additional programming from Chris Vrenna, and was mixed by Yip and Code Orangeโ€™s Eric โ€˜Shadeโ€™ Balderose. UNDERNEATH has already staked its claim as one of the yearโ€™s top album earning โ€œBest of 2020 So Farโ€ accoladesโ€ from: Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Stereogum, Revolver, Consequence of Sound, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and more. NPR declared โ€œ[it] devours a body of extreme sounds โ€” sludge, noise, metallic hardcore, doom, grunge, industrial and whatever else it takes to make the mosh pit swarm โ€” to make uncompromisingly chaotic metal.โ€ Stereogum detailed UNDERNEATH as โ€œa conceptual piece about online poisoningโ€ฆโ€ adding, โ€œthe experience of hearing it on headphones is akin to getting torn limb from limb by cybernetic terminators,โ€ while the The FADER attested, โ€œCode Orange sound like no other metal band around right now. Underneath is their shot at the stars.โ€ The UKโ€™s Metal Hammer gave UNDERNEATH a perfect 10 out of 10 album review, hailing the LP as โ€œa 1,000 ft neon signpost for the rest of the metal world to follow, the first classic record of the decade.โ€ Kerrang! awarded UNDERNEATH a flawless 5K review declaring the album, โ€œone of the most powerful, cathartic, creatively satisfying and bruisingly heavy records of its age,โ€ with Rolling Stone praising Code Orangeโ€™s, โ€œcutting melodies and the groupโ€™s balance of industrial rattle and shock-treatment guitar riffs.โ€ Revolver affirmed, โ€œThe record is one of the most colossal and best sounding hardcore-adjacent albums of all time.โ€

Code Orange recently made headlines in the professional wrestling world with their performance of โ€œUnderneathโ€ at this summerโ€™s NXT Takeover: In Your House event. The band previously released โ€œLet Me In,โ€ their official entrance theme for WWE Superstar โ€˜The Fiendโ€™ Bray Wyatt, and featured at WWEโ€™s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III performing a rendition of wrestler Aleister Black’s entrance theme alongside Incendiaryโ€™s Brendan Garrone.

Comprised of Jami Morgan (Drums / Vocals), Eric โ€˜Shadeโ€™ Balderose (Electronics / Guitar / Vocals), Reba Meyers (Guitar / Vocals), Dominic Landolina (Guitar) and Joe Goldman (Bass), Code Orange flipped the heavy music world on its head with their breakthrough album FOREVER, a collection that masterfully mixed hardcore aggression with urgent industrial textures, earning the band a breakthrough GRAMMY nomination and top placement on several โ€œBest of 2017โ€ lists including: Rolling Stoneโ€™s โ€œ20 Best Metal Albums of 2017,โ€ Revolverโ€™s โ€œ20 Best Albums of 2017,โ€ and The Independentโ€™s โ€œTop 20 Rock & Metal Albums of 2017.โ€ FOREVER was followed by the 2018 release of THE HURT WILL GO ON, a digital EP featuring โ€œ3 Knivesโ€ and โ€œThe Huntโ€ Feat. Corey Taylor, as well as โ€œThe Hurt Will Go Onโ€ (Shade Remix), an official remix of Code Orangeโ€™s โ€œHurt Goes Onโ€ helmed by the bandโ€™s guitarist and vocalist Shade. More recently the Code Orange has collaborated with a wide array of artists, co-producing Injury Reserveโ€™s โ€œHPNGCโ€ Feat. JPEGMAFIA, serving up a pair of remixes for alt-Jโ€™s โ€œHit Me Like That Snareโ€ and โ€œAdeline,โ€ and guesting on Amnesia Scannerโ€™s โ€œAS Flat.โ€
