Two months after the premiere of their new record “Try To Enjoy It“, Danish post punk tinged alt punk rockers BIG MESS are back to our pages with their new music video for their nostalgic track “2 for U”!
BIG MESS cross-genre experiments sound too rockish to be punk, and too gritty to be alt rock, and we love this non-obvious feel! ‘2 of U’ is the third single from BIG MESS’ album ‘Try To Enjoy It” released via Indisciplinarian on LP/digital in Sept 29th 2017. The official video for the song was directed by Magnus Thorsager Olesen and can be viewed above. We predict good things will happen to this pack!
Tobias Bendizen, the guitarist and songwriter of BIG MESS, offered the following commentary on the track:
2 of U is a simple love song to my sister. It started out as a sorta Velvetsy ballad and ended up a full-fledged bossanova monster. We spotted a slight bossa resemblance in the drumbeat of the original arrangement and took it from there – read up on bossa-rhythms, borrowed a nylong-string guitar (which I still haven’t returned, I’m sorry!) and got a beautiful horn arrangement on the track. Michaels vocal keeps it Mess-y. Enjoy!
