We’re thrilled to host the live premiere of Vertige Noir from Creve Coeur’s debut album Catastrophes, set to drop digitally via Atypeek Music on November 8, 2024. This video is a full-blown showcase of the dark, raw energy Creve Coeur is known for. Captured with precision and urgency, this five-piece Parisian outfit defies expectations right from the jump.
Vertige Noir might start with a frantic burst of jagged dissonance, but trust me, by the time you hit a little over the two-minute mark, you’re already entering a place sonically so serene and detached, you never would’ve predicted it from the song’s violent opening. For that alone, you’ll respect what Creve Coeur pulls off in this session. They took us on a wild trip with this track.
This isn’t your typical post-rock or noise-punk band trying to cash in on nostalgia. Creve Coeur blends styles so fluidly, throwing you into moments that transition between chaotic noise, post-hardcore screeches, and quiet, frozen atmospheres.
The sound of Vertige Noir is anchored by the psychologically unstable delivery of frontman Corentin Sarkadi, whose voice oscillates between half-detached indifference and an unhinged threat. If you’re into METZ, Sonic Youth, Gilla Band, or DITZ, this live session is right up your alley.
The video itself, directed by Guillaume Quincy and recorded live in-studio by Youri Benaïs (known for his work with Pascal Obispo), captures Creve Coeur at their most authentic, a reminder that live chemistry is the heart of this band.

The session, filmed in May 2024, features three tracks in total, but Vertige Noir is the one that draws you in with its sheer volatility, carrying all the unpredictable dynamics that have become the band’s signature sound.
There’s something uniquely French about Creve Coeur, and it’s not just in the language. Corentin Sarkadi’s lyrics, delivered with a bitter precision, add layers of atmosphere to the already heady mix of noise and post-rock.
And the lineup? Valère Brisard on baritone guitar (MIME, Kwoon), Fabien Claes on guitar (Lugosi, MIME), Boris Patchinsky on bass (Parlor, SaaR, co-founder of the Post in Paris Festival), and Paul Void on drums (Contrevents, Stamp, Al-Qasar). Sarkadi himself has roots in Enob, Panico Panico, Blanc Dégoût, and Mia Vita Violenta, among others.
Creve Coeur thrives in contrast. Their music lurches from jerky dissonances to slow-burning post-rock, all while capturing the eerie yet cathartic tension between noise and space.
