Dead Dog Summer, the post-hardcore trio from Čakovec, Croatia, have just released a video for their latest single, “Bridges.” The track is their third from an upcoming second album, set for release in the fall of 2025.
The video was shot in May 2025 at Club Prostor in their hometown and was filmed by Steven Antalasic. Editing and post-production were handled by the band themselves.
Dead Dog Summer have been active since the end of 2020. Their debut album, A Place of Someday, originally came out digitally in 2022 and was later pressed on vinyl by Geenger Records and the band’s own label, My Last Station, in May 2023. Since then, they’ve maintained a consistent presence across the independent scenes of Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Serbia, performing at various clubs and festivals.

Their DIY ethic is a central part of how they operate. The new single “Bridges” was recorded in their own studio and rehearsal space. As with their previous work, the mix and mastering were done by Ivan Jakić from Kut Sobe studio.
Musically, Dead Dog Summer lean into post-hardcore territory—blending explosive guitar work, a grounded rhythm section, and vocals that shift between melodic and screamed. The lineup consists of Igor Bistrović (vocals and guitar), Krešo Žerjav (bass and vocals), and Boris Strahija (drums).

Lyrically, “Bridges” focuses on what it takes to move forward. The band explains: “Bridges delves into the necessity of change and the courage it takes to leave behind certain aspects of life to move forward. The song resonates with themes of personal growth and the bittersweet nature of closing chapters. To cross new bridges, we must first burn the old, letting go of past ties to embrace the path ahead.”
