DEAFHEAVEN release new song & video “In Blur”, new album “Infinite Granite” coming up!

August 4, 2021
1 min read

Blackgaze post metallers DEAFHEAVEN are expanding their new refreshed sonic direction with new mellow track “In Blur”, coming from the upcoming album “Infinite Granite“, out August 20th on Sargent House. Check it out above and go here to see the band’s upcming live dates.

“In Blur, like its predecessors, finds George Clarke singing clean vocals, not howling, and the band’s guitars set to twinkle rather than bludgeon. The song is five and a half minutes long — short for Deafheaven — and it slowly layers on effects and melodic ideas. It’s pretty enough to soundtrack a romantic interlude on a teen drama.” – Stereogum

Director / Editor: John Bradburn / UK DOP: Tom F Sykes / Los Angeles 2nd unit Director/DOP:Sean Stout / 2nd Unit additional cameras: Clifton Strommel, Kenny Laubacher

Deafheaven

“In Blur” Lyrics:

In blur, father
glanced over stirred
Imagined you laughing
Muddied feet dancing
What is this aching prism?
This prison wincing
Receiving sudden swaths of dogma

Wandering over royal yonder
Wandering over flooded ground again

What does daylight look like in this chaos of cold?
What does daylight look like?
Solitude and falling into respites now

In blur, hovered
Accepted devotion
Unearther, bleeding ark of creation…

Who are you now?

Forgive the trembling love,
I’m weak and acting bold
and alone
