Death metal duo EKSTASIS (Damien Done & Dave from Crusades) releases debut demo on vinyl

1 min read

The death metal band Ekstasis recently released their debut demo, titled Paralyzing Impermanence, on cassette in the US via. The band features Damien Moyal of Damien Done and As Friend Rust, who joined forces with Dave Williams of Crusades, Black Tower and Surrender, after exchanging text messages about their shared love for early death metal that incorporated thrashiness and raw punk energy. In just a few days, they had written songs and formed Ekstasis.

The theme of the demo revolves around existential crises and the absurdity of life, as suggested by its title. One of the tracks on the release, “Magmatic Decimation,” depicts a grim end to life on Earth.

The band’s upcoming vinyl release of the demo will mark their first release in Europe and is available for pre-order today via World Eater Records, on Bandcamp Friday! Check it out here.
