Electronic goth dark wave act COMITI unveils debut video and ‘Luminous and Sparkling’ EP

1 min read

COMITI is a Texas-based audio and visual experiment founded to explore different shades of ambience and the aggression in between. Roaring with nauseating synth soaked bliss and drum patterns that pummel you in the chest, ‘Luminous and Sparkling’, a two track EP, will be released on lathe cut vinyl Nov 17th 2022 via Comiti’s own US imprint and Wave Tension Records in Europe. Today, we’re stoked to give you COMITI’s new music video, melding a desolate Texas landscape, stagnant mannequins, and the lights of a disorienting packed club.

As ‘Luminous and Sparkling’ progresses through its two song offering of glowing synths and pounding drums, it traverses between darkwave pop and EBM with ease.

The music on this EP is unforgiving and contemporary, evoking feelings of melancholy and familiarity. The chaotic undertones reach a pinnacle in ‘For the Feeling’ as the rhythmic energy makes you feel isolated but ready to become a part of something on the dance floor.

Comiti conveys tension through a combination of melody and strained vocals that critique this era’s digital darkness. Finely tuned passages echo what many recognize is at play in their own lives when they look outward at the creation of art, content, and vanity.

COMITI

“Individual expression has never been more alive, but the echoes obscure the vapid nature of culture’s efforts.” – comiti

Luminous and Sparkling moves past Comiti’s dream sludge beginnings and offers a maximalist approach to modern dark electronic pop. Comiti plans to release more singles that aim to complete the dichotomy between melodic noise pop and the restraint of minimalist EBM, dive into remixes, and prepare for shows in the future.
