1 min read

Taking influence from bands such as Delta Sleep, Title Fight, and Glocca Morra, INSIDE VOICES combine intricate riffs, thought-provoking lyrics and deft melodic injections. The band’s pcoming EP ‘Liminal Space’ showcases an originality and vulnerability befitting of a collection of songs written during the 21st centuryโ€™s darkest and most worrisome time. INSIDE VOICES’ new material is a smart integration of contemplative emo with cathartic and accessible rock tones.

Since the release of 2018 debut album ‘Consecutive Normal Songs’, Northeast Louisiana 4-piece Inside Voices have honed an emotive and punk fueled brand of alternative rock. Today, we’re sharing their top 5 albums that shaped the band’s upcoming EP ‘Liminal Space’, set for release on January 21st, 2022.

Inside Voices is: Tyler Jones โ€“ Guitar/Vocals, Alex Stokes โ€“ Guitar, Connor Matthews โ€“ Drums, Taylor Bice โ€“ Bass

1. Goth Dad:

These guys are the homies. They deserve so much more recognition than what they have. We met them at a random show we played together a few years back and we hit it off immediately. Theyโ€™re based in Hattiesburg, MS. They make nothing but bangers. Definitely worth every second of your time.

2. Rupe:

Rupe is a good friend of ours. He and Tyler went to Louisiana Tech University together, and Rupe played a pivotal role in the music scene in their college town. He makes genuinely incredible music. Heโ€™s also a genuinely incredible human being.

3. Youth Crash:

On the heavier end of the spectrum, Youth Crash absolutely kills it. Theyโ€™re a Shreveport based band that makes music you just want to move to. They pack so much energy into their songs and into their sets. Plus, their bass playerโ€™s tone is absolute top shelf stuff. Theyโ€™re all around fantastic dudes.

4. Dezorah:

Words really cannot even describe how amazing this band is. Theyโ€™re based out of McAllen, Texas. Listening to their music for the first time really makes you go โ€œOh wow, this band is goodโ€, but then you see them live and youโ€™re like, โ€œWOW, this band is next levelโ€. They possess such an incredible kind of energy that you just canโ€™t find anywhere else. All of the members are so kind and so so talented.

5. Beach Novels:

This man right here. This is actually the drummer from Goth Dad, but he more than deserves the mention. This dude thinks on a different frequency entirely. Super catchy jams coming from a super swell guy. Weโ€™re all more than stoked to hear him pump out more bangers.
