Curitiba angular, instrumental, progressive jazz noise rockers GIANT GUTTER FROM OUTER SPACE (interviewed for IDIOTEQ last year) have shared a new single called ‘encoded’, coming form their forthcoming album “Charred Memories”, to be released on February 1st by the Brasilian net label Sinewave and Finnish label Terranean Recordings. Despite its similar atmopshere, it feels like there’s little that isn’t an improvement on their past efforts, from the thunderous bass, drums, and synth tones to the frenetic energy pouring out of every note. Damn, these guys are a band to watch next year.

The band commented on the new song:

All the songs on this record to come were conceptualised in a way that together it has something to do with the process of morning, of working through the trauma of past violence. This one, “encoded”, will be the first one in the record, and as the name itself suggests, It’s the first part of a memory process, when information comes into the memory and needs to be changed in a way that it can be coped with, so that it can be stored and retrieved.

Credits: recorded and mastered by Murillo da Rós at Clínica Pro Music, Curitiba, Brazil, mixed by Murillo da Rós and the band. Music composed, performed and produced by the band, modular synthesizer composed and performed by Fernando Nahtaivel, design, artwork and photo by Cesinha Marin.
