Worcester-based punk-rock quartet, FIGHTS AND FIRES, are heading in to the Summer of 2017 with the new album, Live Life Like A Tourist, set for release on July 14th through Lockjaw Records.Β Live Life Like A Tourist is to be released on 12β vinyl and digital download through Lockjaw Records on the 14th July 2017.
The new album features 8 tracks of melodic hardcore-infused punk-rock, inspired by the members of the band finding happiness in their personal lives, rekindling a love for life and a passion for their music. As such, an underlying message of positivity runs throughout all 8 tracks on the record, underpinned by one simple message – βYou’re not on your own.β
Since their formation in 2008, the band have released two albums, an EP, two split releases and a handful of singles, which are now completely sold out on all formats.
F&F wear their hearts on their sleeves β never ones to put scene credentials before honesty, theyβre not ashamed to say that Status Quo and Thin Lizzy, as well as bands like The Bronx and Rocket From The Crypt, had an imprint on the Fights And Fires sound.
βWe’ve had a change of heart,β says drummer Lee Jackson βWe got to a point where we were sick of being in a band. We became naively wrapped up in this vision of ‘trying to make it a success’ and we were actually overlooking the important part, which is to make sure you’re having fun.β
βA lot has changed,β adds vocalist Philip Cox βIn the time between writing this and the last record, weβve all managed to get our personal lives together. We’re much happier people now. By making ourselves happier, I feel like weβve got a new found love for music again.β
Fights And Fires are a band that pride themselves on having fun and truly enjoying themselves, whilst delivering, chaotic and passionate, rock-and-roll-inspired hardcore shows.
After turning their focus to touring mainland Europe, the band have built a solid underground fanbase throughout the continent, and their sheer persistence has seen the band cross the English channel over 35 times, with no plans to slow up just yet.
The band will once again be returning to Mainland Europe this Summer, in support of Live Life Like A Tourist, with two further trips scheduled for later in the year.
