To celebrate the pre-order of their upcoming record “Second Thoughts”, screamy emotive DIY hardcore band CAGES from Ludwigsburg, Germany are teaming up with share “Every Dog has its day“, the first single off their debut EP, set for an October 21st release via Through Love Records (Germany), Middle-Man Records (USA), Shove Records (Italy) and Long Legs Long Arms Distributions (Japan).

“Every Dog has its day“ is a melody-driven emotional mahlstrom of catchy riff delivery coupled with passinate vocals. Although the lyrics address anxieties, the track ends on a more positive note.
Ultimately the song’s theme is accepting anxieties as a part of one’s self and finding a way to live a fulfilling life without becoming another person. “Every Dog has its day“ hints a varied song writing approach with heavy early 2000s influences displayed on all five songs of “Second Thoughts“.

The EP was recorded at Rama Studios right before the pandemic put an abrupt halt to all future plans regarding a record release and playing shows. “Second Thoughts” was mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios during the first lockdown and the group’s been busy putting together a live set and constantly writing new music eversince.
Now with the help of Through Love Records (Germany), Middle-Man Records (USA), Shove Records (Italy) and Long Legs Long Arms Distributions (Japan), “Second Thoughts” will finally be released on single sided 12inch vinyl with a screen printed b-side on October 21st. The record is housed in a screen printed sleeve with an artwork by schwarzer.rand.
Pre-orders for “Second Thoughts” kick off today via Through Love Rec. (EU) & Middle-Man Rec. (US). Every preordered copy of the record will be housed in an additional hand-printed hand-numbered sleeve including a poster. This way every limited preorder-copy will have its unique packaging.
