Today marks the release of “Dream World,” a new EP by the German hardcore band Spirit Crusher, under Triple B Records. Infusing traditional hardcore with thrash metal elements, reminiscent of Cro-Mags and early Metallica, this two-song EP reflects the band’s unique crossover style.
Spirit Crusher, in collaboration with David Deutsch of 1408 Productions in Hanover, Germany, took charge of the production, recording, and mixing, while Alan Douches from West West Side Music (known for working with Converge and Earth Crisis) handled the mastering. The EP is available for streaming and the 7” vinyl can be purchased via Triple B Records.
Established in 2015, Spirit Crusher comprises five members united by their commitment to straight edge, human rights, and animal rights principles.
The band has gained recognition across Europe and the UK, previously releasing a 7” titled “The Absolute” in 2016 and a full-length LP, “Whispers Against The Roar Of The World,” in 2019, both via The Essence in London. “Dream World” continues this trajectory with two profound tracks, “D.O.R.” and “Center Of Nothing,” exploring themes of idealism and deceptive realities.
The EP not only highlights the band’s dynamic and intricate sound but also serves as a prelude to their upcoming full-length album.
The lineup of Spirit Crusher includes Dominik Elberskirch on vocals, Andreas Villhauer and Adrian Zieger on guitars, Peter Bastian on bass, and Michael Dester on drums.
