GHOULS – “Better And Then Some” video

2 mins read

Directed by Karl Taylor of Reel 35, the video promotes the new album from horn-fuelled pop-punkers GHOULS called “Great Expectations II”. The seven-track release is set to drop on July 10th 2015, coinciding with the quintet’s main stage performance at 2000 Trees Festival. Watch the video below and scroll down to stream their previous releases and see their upcoming dates!

Formed in late 2011 by five friends intent on an exodus from various UK home towns, Ghouls convened in the nation’s capital and emerged into their current line-up in early 2013. Assimilating a range of sounds with the welcome inclusion of both a sax and trombone, the end product is not that of a band attempting to throw an excess of ingredients into the melting pot, but instead one conveying a chemistry, originality and charisma of the highest order.

‘…the promise of Neck Deep, if Neck Deep had a sax…(KKKK)’ – Kerrang! Magazine

A breakout 2014 saw the quintet release debut album Ten Thousand Words On as well as embarking on a 30 date UK and European Tour in Spring. The April 4th sell-out album release show at the Monarch in Camden was attended by a raft of fans, including Frank Turner, who continues to speak of his admiration for the promising young act.

‘Truly brilliant – a fun, honest and inspiring punk record.’ – Rock Sound Magazine

A busy summer of festivals would soon follow, with Ghouls gracing the stages of Hit The Deck, Takedown, Boardmasters and Secret Garden Party. Not content with some of the nation’s leading festivals, the band also continued to garner support from some of music’s top names getting the nod from the likes of Professor Green and Slaves for support slots as the growing fan base and recognition surrounding the young Londoners shows no signs of slowing.

‘Excellent’ – Punktastic

Having dropped EP “Great Expectations” in October 2014, Ghouls continue to harness their momentum through a combination of hard-work and charismatic delivery both on record and live, evident during 2015’s UK and European Tour. As 2015 continues to hot up for the London five-piece, the band will be heading back to mainland Europe before a flurry of festival appearances (including main stage at 2000 Trees) and the release of Great Expectations II this summer.

“Emerging in a wave of upbeat melodies and effervescent horns…sure to put a smile on your face.” – Property of Zack

what if you left today
left and i never saw your face again
like it was pretend
what if we’d never said
all of the things we did
when we first met, this conversation would be
dead and done
but if walking’s the pace
then I will run
cos you, you’re better and then some
it got me thinking
its just the way life goes
not everybody finds a way to cope with problems
but I’ve found, I’ve found you.
what if I crash my car, what if a fire starts and
I can’t escape, these thoughts crossing my brain
each and everyday, but you make it all okay
thoughts go away, these aches and these pains are
dead and done
if walking’s the pace
then I’ll run
cos you, you’re better and then some
it got me thinking
its just the way life goes
not everybody finds a way to cope with problems
but I’ve found, I’ve found that
there’s all this thinking
on all the ways life can go
not everybody finds someone like you
who does all the things you do, for me.
what if I’d never found you, how would i cope then
I think I could but happy to say thats not what has happened
cos you, you’re better and then some.
it got me thinking
its just the way life goes
not everybody finds a way to cope with problems
but I’ve found, I’ve found that
there’s all this thinking
on all the ways life can go
not everybody finds someone like you
who does all the things you do, for me.
all the things you did for me.
