GOING OFF goes off in their new wicked single “Premium Dream” – join the wild ride here!

With 2 EP releases since their formation in December 2019 and a raging leap into the live music circuit, GOING OFF are a band with something to say. With an intense and relentlessly energetic live performance and songs with lyrical themes worth going off about – Going Off are a band who need to be seen and heard.

What Makes You Tick?’ is the hardcore punk album of 2023, filled with vigour and reminiscent of the likes of Candy, Gulch and Trash Talk.

Formed in Nov 2019, Going Off immediately recorded their first demo EP which dropped December the same year. They managed to play one live show before the pandemic hit, and through COVID/lockdowns focused on writing and recording their first proper studio EP ‘Destroy’.

Post-pandemic the band began playing live again and fresh out the gate hit the ground running – having many, many shows under their belt in just over a year.

The band thrive playing on stage to a live audience performing their genre-blending sound of slow heavy hardcore and super-fast aggressive punk. Their lyrical themes are sometimes based around concept ideas, and are often politically charged – always ‘going off’ about something worth shouting about.

Premium Dream is a concept single, based around Jake’s (vocals) idea from a poster he saw outside his flat that reads ‘PREMIUM DREAMS’. “This gave him the idea of a not-too-distant future – one in which the wealthy are able to pay for the ultimate escapism – where they can pay to experience premium dreams, to help them escape the horrors of our everyday never ending nightmare reality. The video is a visual accompaniment, a feverish nightmare.” – comments the band.

“There’s a huge mix of influences for us all individually in the band and as a collective. Nate, Alex and Ben have their musical roots in several notable hardcore names and carry their knowledge and experience into Going Off. Nick is more into pop punk. Jake started off in metalcore bands and listens to a lot of nasty sounding stuff – takes a lot of live inspiration from high energy performers.”
