HANG THE BASTARD are a band from London, England that formed in 2009 and have built their name across Europe over the last 4 years. The bandβs first full length “Hellfire Reignβ was released on Holy Roar records in 2010 and over the last three/four years of touring Europe, releasing 7β singles and EPs and also some lineup changes last year, the band decided to have a complete rethink on what they wanted HANG THE BASTARD to represent moving forward.
The resulting progression has taken the band in a completely new direction and they have written easily their strongest material to date. βSex In The Seventh Circleβ is their 2nd full length record and is a riff worshipping stoner metal assault which will be released worldwide through Century Media Records /Siege Of Amida. Their focus for the last 18 months has been to write the strongest record they could yet still playing shows along the way with Nails, Orange Goblin, Valient Thorr and Xibalba as well as festivals like Download, Sonisphere & Hyde Park with Black Sabbath, Soundgarden & Faith No More. The band recorded the record at Titan Studios in the UK in November 2013 and really made a concerted effort to write something that both gathered influence from some of their favorite bands as well as bringing something unique to the metal table. FFO – Down, Kyuss, Eyehategod, Iron Monkey, Cream, Integrity, Weedeater, Ghost, Sabbath.
From the misery of βMorrs Tempestβ, to the riff fest of βHornfelβ. From the haunting soul of βMists Of Albionβ to the anthemic attack of βKeeping Vigilβ, HANG THE BASTARD have made sure they made a record that they wanted to listen to and was exciting from start to finish. Dynamically, the band have delivered one of the most exciting metal records of the last decade. Patience and hard work pays off when it comes to caring about the music you write!
