Hardcore punk rockers SVETLANAS release new video for the track “Let’s Get Drunk”

SVETLANAS (interrogated for IDIOTEQ 4 years ago) have been called “the most dangerous band in the world” thanks to their super intense live performances at such international festivals as Vans Warped Tour, South by Southwest, Rebellion Festival and more. The Russian “thrashcore” band (now living in Italy) consists of (first names only): OLGA (vocals), DISTE (drums), STEVE (bass), RICKY (guitar) and the newest member, former Queens Of The Stoneage /Kyuss bass player Nick Oliveri who dubbed Olga, “The best front wo’Man’ I’ve seen since Lee (Trash Talk) and Blag Jesus (The Dwarves).” SVETLANAS’ latest release, “THIS IS MOSCOW NOT LA” just came out on Rad Girlfriend Records / Subkultura Records. A video for the track “Let’s Get Drunk” is premiering on BrooklynVegan and can be watched below.

While maintaining a 100% DIY attitude, the band has earned praise and respect from such punk and rock heavy hitters like Gene Simmons (“Their music will be listened to by 40 millions of Americans.”), Jello Biafra (“Olga has quite an unusual voice, kind of like an angry cornered mongoose.”) and The Adolescents, who they partnered with on a split release titled “Hot War”.

In 2015 the band teamed up with Blag Dahlia of The Dwarves for a 7″ split and a European tour that captured the attention of bass player Oliveri, who officially joined the lineup in 2016.

After a full month residency at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, last month, SVETLANAS put out their brand new album “This is Moscow Not LA” , which was recorded at Josh Homme’s Pink Duck Studios.

“I swear to God their approach to music is still gross and strong like a Vodka shot”- Malcom McLaren

-“Svetlanas kicking major ass -New Noise Magazine

“The Svetlanas is able to keep up such level of energy that seems like it will never stop throughout an entire set and then that energy is transferred to the crowd. Lead singer Olga was on stage, off stage in people’s faces then back on stage then in the crowd again throughout the set.”-Az Punk Scene

“Olga Svetlanas is Henry Rollins in female form.” -Punk in Vegas

“Svetlanas were simply unstoppable, with bodies constantly flying from the stage into the pit like crash test dummies.”-Dying Scene

“Not punk enough was not a problem for The Svetlanas. This was a very entertaining set.” -Boston Groupie News
