Out today via Revelation Records, Where They Talk: 30th Anniversary Edition revisits IGNITE’s 1994 debut with a remastered and expanded 12” release.
Originally a three-song 7” EP, this reissue includes two bonus tracks from the Scarred For Life album and is available both digitally and on colored vinyl—marking the first time these tracks are accessible in digital format.
The 2024 remaster by Will Borza expands the original material into a five-track document of early melodic hardcore shaped in Southern California’s hardcore scene.
Recorded at Moonsong Studios in Riverside, engineered by Bob Moon, the sessions reflect influences from both Orange County and Washington, D.C. scenes—clear nods to bands like Uniform Choice and Dag Nasty are present in the mix of sharp energy and melody.
“This EP started off everything for us. It’s where our whole journey was set in motion, and to see it celebrated 30 years later is truly humbling,” bassist Brett Rasmussen said.
The original lineup featured Randy Johnson (Against the Wall, Pushed Aside) on vocals during his short but defining stint in the band, with Joe D. Foster (Unity) on guitar, Brett Rasmussen on bass, and Casey Jones (No For An Answer, Justice League) on drums. That lineup laid the groundwork for what would become IGNITE’s identity over the next three decades.
Pressed for the first time since the original 1,000-copy run, the reissue comes in three color variants:
– 300 on Turquoise vinyl (RevHQ Exclusive, limited to one per customer)
– 600 on Cloudy White
– 300 on Blue and White Mix (Retail Store Exclusive)
