Atmosfhera is a punk rock band from Nicaragua that has been around since 2020. In the early days, they played covers, then decided to focus on their own songs. Their first record came out on April 13, 2024, and 40% of its tracks were written by other people. Recording was tough because the band only had a laptop, instruments, and a basic mic.
“Camino Sin Luz” opens with a theme of losing everything—someone who once had it all but now can’t even find a lighter to guide the way. That’s where the line “¿Y ahora qué harás sin tu camino de luz? Dijiste que lo tenías todo.” comes from.
Then there’s “Atmosfhera,” a reference to the band’s origins in a place nobody seems to know.
“Tú” is Jeremy’s love song; he wrote it for a couple who broke up a few days later, and now it’s dedicated to his girlfriend, highlighted by the line about her eyes shining brighter than the moon. “Maldito Egoísta” reflects Jeremy’s frustration with people who act superior: “Te consideras alguien importante.”
Once they wrapped up the debut album, they started planning a second project. Around that time, they released “Si Yo No Estoy,” a song that, according to Jeremy, “does not mean anything” but still pulled in about 2k streams on Spotify.
It’s a collaboration with pop punk band Coral. The band took a big break in 2024 with only a few shows. Previous members left, so Jeremy and the drummer Samuel searched for replacements.
After a couple of no-shows, they landed Engel Tapia on bass and added Marwan on second guitar.
The next track on their plate became “Delirios.” Jeremy describes it as an idea originally meant for his other band, “Fuck Your Mind,” but he decided to keep it for Atmosfhera.
The song deals with people who feel trapped in messy situations—drugs or alcohol—and can’t break out until they choose to stop. Jeremy produced and recorded guitars and vocals, while mixing was done by their friend Roberto Sanches from Jardin Animal.
Atmosfhera credits a diverse set of influences: Nirvana, Blink-182, NOFX, Misfits, Pinhead Gunpowder, The Beatles, and Green Day. They also draw strength from Nicaragua’s punk scene, playing alongside several local groups since 2024. Coral stands out for songs like “Matilda” and “Lastre.” Jardin Animal offers a punk-emo blend worth hearing in “Dieciseis” and “Melodias (felices para una cancion triste).”
Rexurgir leans into hardcore punk with intense shows that often lead to someone getting hurt. Their tracks “Abismo” and “Nunca en la vida” come recommended.
Currently, Atmosfhera is working on a double EP.
The first part will likely be called “Vesanias,” a nod to insanity, but Jeremy hints it might change.
He, Samuel, Engel, and Marwan are aiming to expand their sound within the punk framework.
Jeremy wrote this entire story, making sure every detail reflects where the band has been and where they plan to go next.
