Iron Form’s new single “Become the Blade,” released on February 12, comes straight from their forthcoming debut EP Cut From Cold Blood, set for release on March 21 via Church Road Records. The band, formed by UK metal veterans and lifelong friends Alex Heffernan and Mario Gambardella after stints in Svalbard, Handcuff, Eulogy, and Modern Rituals, draws influence from the early 2000s post-hardcore and metalcore scene.
Become the Blade unfolds a raw tale of someone pushed to the brink by overwhelming sorrow, where anger and revenge seem like the only remaining options.
It brings together melodic hardcore and alternative metal in a way that feels unexpectedly grand and memorable, powered by layered guitar work and fervent vocals. That unrestrained energy resonates throughout the rest of the EP, weaving complex melodic structures and heavy riffs into forceful vocal deliveries.

Cut From Cold Blood emerges as a conceptual piece about sudden hardship and a grueling battle against unyielding circumstances. It captures the strength of those who keep pushing forward no matter what stands in their way, shaping a statement of inner liberation and unwavering determination across 20 minutes of intense music.
This release honors Iron Form’s roots in heavy sound, yet still highlights a careful melodic touch beneath its fierce exterior.
Stay tuned for more.
