KID BROTHER – “Angst” video

1 min read

Interviewed for IDIOTEQ last week, KID BROTHER will certainly be making new fans across the world.

KID BROTHER art

In order to create something great, sometimes you have to step completely out of your comfort zone, both metaphorically and physically. This is the case for London¬-based 4 piece, KidBrother. After growing up together on the Isle of Man the band upped roots and moved to London, a city 3 times the size of the sleepy island, and with nearly 100 times the population.

Leaving friends and family behind in order for their music to reach a wider audience and to pursue their life¬long ambitions is not something to be taken lightly but the decision was made with confidence, knowing that each and every member shared the same dream and was completely dedicated to the task in hand.

After years of playing in various bands together, touring the UK and Europe extensively they have honed their skills as song¬writers and musicians meaning although the band is a new endeavour, their live show is filled with style and confidence. Their shared life¬-changing experience has provided inspiration for their up¬coming, self¬-titled debut EP, which is overflowing with real¬life emotion and passion.

After months of writing and rehearsing KidBrother are ready and raring to go out and show the UK scene what they are capable of.

Song lyrics:

Measured myself up for no god damn reason
Should have Buried my head in the dirt
Tried to stay up through the mourning season
Now I’m tired and defensive

I still see you running rings round me
Gripping my breath hold my body under water
You’re the tightness in my chest
You never meant it
to embody my fear of death
But I can’t help the seasons
I couldn’t help you either

And I still fell asleep last night
And I still hear the page turn, read aloud the last chapter of your life

Measured myself up for no god reason
Should have Buried my head in the dirt
Tried to stay through the mourning season
Now I’m tired and defensive

Extended my hand and my fingers went numb
Spat back by the cold earth
So I punched the dirt
It’s not my fault I didn’t know what you’d become
No one fucking told me flowers bloomed through mud
So I still see you lining my garden
So I still see you there sometimes behind my mothers ear

And I still fell asleep last night
And I still hear the page turn, read aloud the last chapter of your life

Measured myself up for no god damn reason
Should have Buried my head in the dirt
Tried to stay through the mourning season
Now I’m tired and defensive
