LA DISPUTE have premiered their new video for the track “Woman (Reading)” from their 2014 full-length Rooms of the House today via NPR. “Rooms Of The House is an album based on what we leave behind, and what it means when new bodies and new emotions inhabit those places. It’s a lofty concept executed with care by La Dispute,” said NPR of the record, continuing “Director Niall Coffey takes us out of the house and across various locations in London with dancer Julie Ann Minaai. Her movements are desperate and purposeful, shot around empty parking lots, libraries, forests, rooftops and crowded sidewalks. But no matter how often the location changes, the dance is seamless.”
The band also recently announced a co-headlining spring US tour with Title Fight and The Hotelier opening (all tour dates below). Tickets for all shows are now on-sale. The Michigan band released the heavily anticipated Rooms of the House earlier this year via their own Better Living label, in partnership with Staple Records. The album has already shown up on several year-end lists including Paste‘s “50 Best Albums of 2014”,Consequence of Sound‘s “Top 50 Songs of 2014” and Alternative Press‘ “10 Essential Albums of 2014”.Rooms of the House was recorded and mixed by Will Yip at Studio 4 in Philadelphia, produced by Yip and La Dispute, and mastered at The Lodge by Emily Lazar. Alongside the new record, La Dispute have created a 48-page companion book titled Yesterday’s Home that details the working process of writing and recording Rooms of the House as well as a special presentation of the album’s lyrics. Rooms of the House can be purchased digitally via iTunes (http://smarturl.it/ladispute) and physical copies of Rooms of the House are currently available and packages can be seen at http://hellomerch.com/collections/la-dispute.
