“La Tara”: Spanish post hardcore noise rockers HABITAR LA MAR premiere new song & video!

1 min read

After kicking off this new project by Kike Gutiérrez (El Gran Oso Blanco, Xkrude, Las Mierdas) and Frego (Oddhums, Las Mierdas, Xkrude) in February 2018, the duo was later joined by vocalist Juan A. Soler “Kantz” (Tenpel, Delobos, De la Cuna a la Tumba), drummer Paco Reig (El Gran Oso Blanco, Los Ambolias) and bassist Víctor Díaz (El Gran Oso Blanco, Arapahoes), and mamaged to wrap up 2018 with two quality releases, “La Deriva“, and “Realismo Histérico“, both apprieciated by a number of alternative music magazines and national media such as Mondo Sonoro, GoetiaMedia, Miradalternativa … among others. One year later, HABITAR LA MAR are about to release their new album “Comedia Yoica”, the most dark and experimental work of the band, and we’re thrilled to give you a proper taste of their craftsmanship, the new song & music video called “La Tara”!

Through the five piece’s organic and highly addictive amalgamation of noise, alt rock, punk and post hardcore, Jaen based HABITAR LA MAR have done an impressive job at continuing their work and expanding the great traditions in gritty rock music. What a great way to kick off the new year.

The band’s new album ‘Comedia Yoica‘ keeps the incisive and sarcastic vibe found on HABITAR LA MAR previous works but finding new nodes to consolidate a dark and more experimental release. The album has been recorded into a big space and it plays a big role in the recording by amplifying its atmosphere where guitar dissonances, distorted bass, vocals, even intriguing spoken word passages co-exist, making its message louder. Which revolves around EGO in many of its manifestations.

The band will start playing this work live in mid-February in different cities in Spain, such as Madrid, Malaga, Castellón, Granada, Jaén and festivals. More dates will be announce coming soon.
